1982年生まれ 東京農業大学卒
屋久島在住・水中写真家
撮影テーマ：「海に関わる環境問題」「海洋生物の生態行動」「磯や干潟やタイドプール」「世界の海の珍妙な生き物たち」「水面の世界」など。
大学卒業後1年間の海外放浪。香港からユーラシア大陸を横断しモロッコまで。帰国後は静岡県で3年間「はまゆうマリンサービス」に勤務。
2009年に屋久島へ移住。「屋久島ダイビングライフ」　を営みながら海の素晴らしさや大切さを伝えるために国内外問わずに活動している。
2015年に「豊饒の海-屋久島-」（東方出版）を上梓。
2022年、写真絵本「ハタハタ　荒海にかがやく命」（あかね書房）にて第69回産経児童出版文化賞 産経新聞社賞受賞。
2023年、写真絵本「うまれてくるよ 海のなか」（アリス館）にて第69回青少年読書感想文全国コンクール「課題図書」に選出される。
2024年に写真集「潜る　日本海中紀行」（平凡社）を上梓。
その他「海のぷかぷか」（アリス館）、「かくれているよ海のなか」（アリス館）などがある。
